Russia
Russia is the biggest country on Earth with more than ten time zones. It is a part of popular culture, giving the world onion domes from Orthodox churches, ballet, and caviar. When someone wants to go on a tour, they usually automatically want to go to the Kremlin. Many recognize the iconic city centre of Moscow and want to view the museums and the cathedral frescoes. Russia may be famous for this grand city full of modern industrial technology with a historical heart, but that is not all the country has to offer.
Traditions are filled with centuries of history and culture. If someone travels outside busy cosmopolitan cities like Saint Petersburg and Moscow, they will find an entirely unique environment. Russia has a history that spans over a thousand years, and the foundations of this vast landscape are created by many influences. Russia has a lot of spoken languages, many of which are very old. Many small towns and villages follow customs that are as old as the places themselves. Celebrations create a festive mood that never breaks with tradition. These events are held every year, usually during a special season like spring or autumn. The event marks the end of winter or harvest and is celebrated by mixing ancient Orthodox beliefs with leftover pagan folklore.
Russia has many ethnic groups, and most people live and work on the Western side of the country. The country has a world-known history of harsh weather. The winters are freezing, and during the autumn and spring, the warm air brings gentle breezes and drizzling rain. The air at times could be humid, frosty, mild, and completely changeable in one day. Thus, creating some of the most fertile agricultural lands in the world. The country has great deposits of oil, gas, metals, and gemstones. During the industrial revolution, the country was modernized by these vast amounts of reserves.
Russia has taken advantage of its changeable weather in its wartime history. During the time of Napoleon's invasion, the winter was too cold and chilly for his soldiers. History repeated itself during World War Two. The country may be famous for its winters, but it is only right to say they know how to use them to their benefit. The country in its modern times is now a robust touristy place. Regarding the dark gloomy winter, again Russia uses this to its advantage. Some of their skiing areas are acclaimed to be the best on the European continent.
The Russian people stand out for their remarkable way of adapting to their environment. Their disciplined nature rewrote history by giving the world ballet, and contributions to the art and science fields. Many have expressed their gratitude to Yuri Gagarin, the first man in space, and Pyotr Tchaikovsky, the famous composer of the Romantic period. Fyodor Dostoevsky and Leo Tolstoy are regarded as two of the best authors of all time.
