On the whole, the Williams family had a good relationship. Mr and Mrs Williams lived in peace and harmony. The success of their marriage was noted by all their friends and relatives. Indeed, they did not arrange any public scandals or quarrels. They called each other by affectionate nicknames rather than names.
They had two daughters, about two years apart. The sisters were friends with each other, never seriously argued and were very supportive of each other, especially when they grew up and graduated from school. They had a fairly ordinary relationship with their parents. The whole family spent a lot of time together making trips to the sea or resorts. The girls were obedient. Mr Williams was also obedient most of the time.
After leaving school, the sisters entered the university. The eldest decided to be a lawyer, and the youngest was persuaded to become a teacher. A 17-year-old teenager very rarely knows who they want to become. As for Miss Williams, she seldom made decisions on her own, as Mrs Williams usually did it for her.
After two and a half years of study, Miss Williams, Jr. wanted to leave the university. She didn't like studying in principle and realised that she didn't like to communicate with children and their parents. When she announced her intention to leave, she received a very negative reaction. It was Saturday morning. Mrs Williams frowned and put her hands on her hips. Mr William narrowed his eyebrows, his forehead wrinkled. Miss Williams guessed what would happen next. Miss Williams Sr. stood beside her sister in silence and watched her parents' reactions. It was very important to monitor their facial expressions and body language in order to understand what to prepare for defending or assent. This time it was necessary to defend.Mrs Williams and Mr Williams began very loudly asking the youngest daughter, why on earth she had decided to leave and where. What was she thinking when she entered the university? Why doesn't she like teaching? What was she going to do instead of studying? Where would she go? Miss Williams's head was down, her eyes cast down. She did not know the answers to those questions, but she knew only one thing: she did not want to be a teacher. Miss Williams Sr. tried to protect her sister from the attacks of her parents. She folded her arms and stood in front of her sister as if protecting her. She knew that her sister was very afraid when their parents were fighting, especially Mr Williams who screamed very loudly and terribly. She, too, was afraid of the screams which were infrequent and therefore so frightening. But because of her rescuer personality type, she wanted to protect her sister. Miss Williams Jr. could not stand the tension, burst into tears and began to scream in response to the attacks. She had a real hysteria and her crying could not be stopped. This happens when you keep negative emotions to yourself and do not allow yourself to experience them.
When this hideous scene ended, everyone went to their rooms. After a while, everyone came to dinner as if nothing had happened. No one apologised to Miss Williams Jr., and she didn't ask for it. She graduated from the university and received her teaching degree. She never taught. Immediately after graduation, she went to work at a beauty salon and moved out from her parents at the first opportunity.
