Five tigers were released into eastern Russia in May. They had been rescued when they were cubs. Their mothers had been killed by poachers. The tigers were set free with trackers in their collars so that scientists can follow where they go. The adult tigers were ready to go back to the wild. "We made sure they were fit and healthy before we let them go," said Dr Romanov. Now one of the tigers, named Kuzya, has crossed into China. He swam across a river to get there. There are about 360 wild tigers in Russia but there are only about 24 in China.
