Read the text about UFOs and guess the meanings of the definitions below.
Aliens have definitely become a significant part of modern folklore. There are many recorded sightings of UFOs and many more fantasy stories about flying saucers, mysterious lights in the air, and small green creatures who steal people. But what lies behind these myths? Which of them have a connection to reality?
The British government has recently released large secret archives of UFO records and studies. In spite of the impressive amount of witnesses, there's still no proof that the aliens really exist. Many of the sightings can be easily explained by mistaking one thing for something else. For example, there've been cases when people mistook foreign aircraft for flying objects of alien nature.
The idea of mistakes makes perfect sense. Nowadays with all technological devices, gadgets, vehicles such as drones, kites, helicopters, balloons, etc., you are very likely to see some unusual silhouette in the sky. Moreover, our subconscious mind can play tricks on us for many reasons, that's how optical illusions appear. Finally, if someone tends to read or watch lots of materials on UFOs and has a vivid imagination — there's no doubt they will take a cloud for a flying saucer one day.
