Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was a writer from the UK lived long ago. He's most known for his detective Sherlock Holmes, who investigated tricky cases and crimes.

Doyle was born in Scotland 1859. He studied to a doctor but loved writing more. His first story "A Study in Scarlet" was published 1887. In this story Sherlock and his true friend Dr Watson first met and solved a difficult mystery. Sherlock Holmes became extremely popular, and the author wrote many more stories him. Conan Doyle's books were really brilliant and had interesting characters.

Even today, people still love the famous detective from England. His adventures have been made into lots of movies, TV shows, and plays. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is still remembered as one of the writers ever, thanks to his exciting detective stories.
