What is Japan? Japan is a country that has four main islands where most of the population lives. The capital of Japan is Tokyo. Actually, it is on one of these main islands. The name of the capital in English is differ from its Japanese name. In Japan you can hear Nippon instead of Tokyo . Nipon means "Land of the Rising Sun", which is also Japan's nickname in English.

Japan is famous for many things, including its landscape, art, music, poetry and food. Nowadays, it's famous for the coolest and the most unique hi-tech inventions.

A lot of devices came from Japan. For example, we all know famous companies that make digital cameras: Fuji, Panasonic, Canon, and Nikon.

Japan is also famous for its cars. Japanese car companies include Toyota, Honda, Mazda. Japan is also a very important country in space exploration.
