African elephants have large ears. Asian elephants have small ears. The skin of an African elephant is wrinkled and it has a sloping back. The back of the Asian elephant is flat and its skin is smooth. Male and female African elephants have large tusks. Female Asian elephants do not have tusks at all, and the tusks of males are fairly small.
