People often think that being attractive is important. Is that true? Can good looks make a person happy?

In today's society a lot of people, especially teenagers, are strongly influenced by social media and Hollywood beauty standards. They compare themselves with celebrities and think that they don't look good enough. But media presents thoroughly edited photos that don't show the real picture. The truth is that every person is attractive in their own special way. Remember that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Lots of people feel that being attractive is necessary to be successful and accepted by other people. True, pleasing appearance can win people's favor, but comparing to intelligence, kindness, wit and skill it doesn't matter as much. Being attractive alone won't get one a career or a true love. Beautiful personality — that's what truly matters. It will win people's hearts and make a person happier in life.
