Youth Day in Russia

Every year, Russia celebrates a national holiday dedicated to young citizens of the country. This holiday is called Youth Day. Until 2022, young Russians celebrated it on June 27. However, in 2023, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared that the holiday should be celebrated on the last Saturday of June.

The history of Youth Day dates back to the Soviet era when it was first celebrated to recognise the role of youth in building the nation. Events on this day included music festivals, sports competitions, and cultural performances. Today, the holiday continues to celebrate unity and enthusiasm among young people.
