Read the text about a famous river and choose the best title for it.

Starting above the village of Buckden, the River Wharfe flows down to Bolton Abbey. On route, it passes many beautiful stone built villages and over a number of waterfalls — the best known being Linton Falls close to Grassington and the Strid near Bolton Abbey, where the river is forced through a narrow channel.

The name of Wharfedale's river comes from the Saxon guerf meaning "swift". It could even be named after the Old English word weorf; or Old Norse hverfr meaning "winding river".

The river looks like an idyllic place to have a picnic. However, there is a part of this river that almost certainly kills a person if they decide to go in. This place is called the Bolton Strid, and it's very dangerous for a few reasons.

First, the section where people most frequently fall into the water is only 6 feet wide, so people think they can jump over it. That narrow gap allows the river water to achieve tremendous speeds. Also, the banks on both sides of this gap are slippery, so if someone goes under the water, they are likely to be unable to get out. Second, below the water is a series of rocks and tunnels. People who go in the water may never be seen again because they are rapidly flushed into one of them.

The River Wharfe and Bolton Strid have been mentioned in the poems of Wordsworth and other artists who wrote about the water's deadly nature.
