Read the scary story and put the events in the correct order.
A few years ago, I went to visit my friend's house in the village. My friend Phoebe prepared a small guest room for me.
"We don't use it very often, but you'll be okay for one night," she said. She looked a bit worried, but I didn't pay attention.
We spent a great evening playing board games and chatting. When I went to bed, Phoebe asked me to lock the door before I fall asleep.
"It sometimes opens by itself," she explained.
I wasn't really worried about that, so I locked the door and went to bed.
That night I slept badly: I woke up very often; it seemed that someone was there in the room. Someone moved and touched me. But when I opened my eyes, the room was empty.
I felt scared. "These are just bad dreams," I calmed myself.
When I woke up in the morning, the first thing I saw was the door. It wasn't closed any more; it was wide open!
I decided to tell Phoebe about the strange events. She didn't look surprised.
"I'm sorry for not telling you," she said. "You are not the first person to see her..."
"To see whom?" I was puzzled.
"The Miserable Lady," she answered. "Half a century ago, there lived a young lady. She was very sick and unlucky. After an unhappy love story, she died from sadness. Since then, she keeps coming to her room. She is very kind and never hurts anybody, just sleeps in her bed."
I felt stressed and angry. I never came to Phoebe's again. And I started to believe in ghosts.
