Read the following news and fill in the gaps with the verbs in the Present Continuous

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen! We (interrupt) our regular programmes to bring you this breaking story. An Alien space ship has landed on the city hall. It looks like there is an alien inside it. The alien (wave) to the people watching him. It looks like the creature (try) to communicate with us.

People around the city hall (scream), they (run) away. There is absolute chaos! Some children (wave) back at the alien.

Now the alien (open) the door, he (step) off his spaceship. He (walk) on the roof of the building. He (try) to talk to a cat. He (hold) something that looks like a map.

The cat (sleep). The alien (explain) to the cat that he wants to find something on his map. Another space ship (come). It’s unbelievable! The second alien (talk) to the first one! He (show) him the right way on the map. The first alien says thank you to the cat. He (pet) the cat. The cat seems very confused.

The two aliens now seem to be preparing to take off again. They (thank) the cat, they (enter) their spaceships. They (fly) away! Thanks God the aliens were just lost! They did not want to take over the world!
