Liz: What's your favourite holiday, Sam?
Sam: I adore Halloween!
Liz: Why do you like it? I think it's too spooky*.
Sam: No, it's not! It's always so fun and exciting!
Liz: How do you celebrate it?
Sam: My father decorates the flat with jack-o'-lanterns, paper bats and toy spiders. My brother and I wear fancy-dress costumes. And then we go trick-or-treating. That's my favourite part! We scare everyone at their homes. They give us a lot of sweets!
Liz: What about the food? Do you eat anything tasty?
Sam: Yes, we do. My mum cooks some snacks that look like worms, spiders or monsters.
Liz: It sounds like fun.
Sam: It actually is! And in the evening we let off fireworks in our backyard!
Liz: Cool! Can I join you this year?
Sam: Sure! We can go trick-or-treating together. You just need to think about the costume.
Liz: I want to be a witch!
Sam: Great idea!
