The Reading Festival (R-E-A-D-I-N-G), which started out in 1970 in Berkshire, has become the most famous rock festival in Britain. Musical legends such as The Jam, The Who, Pink Floyd and Guns N' Roses have performed there.

Now the festival is called the Reading and Leeds Festival. It takes place each August in two locations: Bramham Park in Leeds (B-R-A-M-H-A-M) and Richfield Avenue (R-I-C-H-F-I-E-L-D) in Reading. The Alternative Stage includes comedy and other cabaret acts and high-class entertainment for visitors wanting something a bit different during the three-day event, which costs about £200.
