The main aim of the environmental charity is to make our world a better place. Some organizations start informational campaigns in order to explain to people how to be more careful with the environment (to reduce the amount of waste they produce or to save running water, for instance). Other companies hire volunteers to clean some territories from litter, such as plastic and paper coverings people throw away. Some organizations also work with governments, trying to persuade them to change their recycling policies.

One of the biggest purposes of charitable donations is to help the poor. The poor are not only the people from underdeveloped countries. Even in your neighbourhood there are many people that may need help in different ways. These people can’t afford many things we are used to, such as education for their children, healthy nutritious food, or a comfortable place to live.

The purpose of charity is to help the people near you first and then others.

Lots of animals and plants around the world are endangered nowadays. NGOs work to protect flora and fauna by developing natural parks and caring for fragile and vulnerable creatures. Volunteers save animals’ habitats and thus prevent them from totally disappearing. Some activists also fight for animal rights; for example, they try to prohibit the exploitation of animals for entertainment purposes.
