Read a speech about St. Patrick's Day and put the topics in the correct order.
Good afternoon!
Today, I'm going to talk to you about my favourite festival.
It's St. Patrick's Day, a traditional Irish festival. On every 17th of March, people in Ireland celebrate St. Patrick — an Irish patron saint who is believed to have brought Christianity to Ireland.
On this day, people wear traditional green costumes and take part in big parades on the streets of cities and villages. They put on green clothes and hats and put shamrocks in their buttonholes. Some of them even dye their hair green!
In some cities, people even colour the rivers green, can you imagine? They decorate their houses green (with bunches of shamrocks) and eat green food: apples, lettuce, olives, cucumbers, and so on. The drinks are often green too!
Thank you for your time.
