"The Story of Keesh" was written by Jack London in 1907. The main character of the story is Keesh. He is thirteen years old, and he is a son of a hunter in an Eskimo tribe. His father Bok dies, and Keesh struggles hard after it.
Keesh tries to prove himself by catching and killing animals and giving enough meat to anyone in his tribe. But the people laugh at him and don't have faith in him. They even say he uses witchcraft to kill polar bears!
At the end of the story, people finally understand how clever Keesh is. He doesn't use witchcraft, but he poisons polar bears.
