Located to the north of Nordfjord, it is a web of deep, craggy fjords that bites into the coastline, creating a myriad of islets and inlets along the coastline and etching out some truly breathtaking scenery. The thing I love most about this area is driving along the Trollstigen, a twisting, sky-topping corkscrew of a road that is the most famous roadway in Norway. Completed in 1936, the Troll's Ladder is a stunning feat of road building and a source of remarkable memories for me. Winding actively over the descending cliff, it allows seeing stomach-churning views right down the mountain. It also passes through Reinheimen National Park, where you can still find wild reindeer still cropping soft grass. [ ]
