My Hometown
My name’s Ann, I am fifteen years old and I’m from Volsk, Russia. Volsk is a very
small town. It is a quiet place. There aren’t many places where young people
can meet. When the weather is good we meet in the park or in the square 7 _______ the town hall, and
in winter we meet at each other’s houses or in the cafés along the main street.
I know almost everybody in town, which is cool, - I like the fact that I can
talk to everyone. 8 _______
a small cinema here but we never get good films. If we want to see a good film,
we have to go to Saratov, about 25 kilometres
from here. Volsk has got a
tennis club, a football ground and a swimming pool. That’s all. I think living
in a small town 9 _______ a bit boring. Living
in a big city is probably more fun. There are lots of sporting facilities,
great shops, lots of things
to do. Of course there are disadvantages, for example, people aren’t very
friendly, there are dangerous neighbourhoods,
people are always 10 _______
a hurry. Maybe the solution is somewhere in the middle like living in a big
town or a small city.
