Subject: Living in the Country
…My parents recently got remote jobs so they decided to move to the countryside! I've always lived in a big city and visited the country only a few times. Have you ever visited the countryside? Are there any advantages over living in a city? Do people in your country prefer living in the city or outside the city?
By the way, my mother's birthday is coming soon and I don't know how to get her a present in the country…
Write an email to Raja. In your message:
- answer her questions;
- ask 3 questions about her new house in the country.
Write 100–140 words.
Remember the rules of email writing.
Now read the sample piece of writing below and choose the correct options to complete the text.
Dear [Ms Tamera|Mum|Raja],
Thank you [for|behind|after]your letter. It was nice [hear|to hear|heard]from you again.
[Besides|You are|I'm happy]for your parents and their new jobs. I think you can [get|make]used to a new place and [moreover|even|never]like it. [So far|In addition|As for me], my family [owns|cleans|purchases]a house [in|under|outside]the city where we spend our weekends and holidays. Country life is peaceful [though|and|surely]calm. It's not that stressful and rushed. I think that after university I would love to move [to|in|for]the countryside [for|to|since]enjoy nature and silence.
Now tell me about the place you are moving in. Have you [already|usually|yesterday]seen it? Is it [enough|obviously|too]far from the city? How many [houses|roommates|floors]does it have?
[Generally|Well|As a rule], I have to go now. My guitar class starts soon. I [am looking forward|can't|wait]to hearing from you soon.
[Best regards|Sincerely yours|Bye],
