A. I would say my family is a good one. We do not have disagreements often. The causes of our disputes would be trivial things. Such as household chores, and my son staying out past his curfew. Overall, I am glad my family is close and loving towards each other. We spend time together every weekend. Last Sunday we all went fishing and then to a restaurant and my son was very happy, which made me happy.

B. My mother and I have a large generation gap and it causes misunderstandings often. We butt heads on almost everything. The other day she disapproved of my choices on my outfit I wanted to wear for my date. She thought my clothes were too revealing, but I know they were fine. We had a large argument about it. I know she means well, but I wish she would understand my point of view.

C. The fact that some families cannot deal with conflict correctly will cause a lot of problems. My family became two parties in the conflict and took sides. It was an unhappy time and it lasted for a month. Finally, we all settled our differences, and we now are all on good terms. We all made the effort to communicate and got everyone back on track. But it was a hard time for a while.

D. I think the issue with family conflicts is miscommunication. Parents sometimes do not want to listen and figure out why their children are acting the way they are. Are parents always right just because they are older? It really makes you think. Children depend on their parents for answers, but sometimes they could be wrong. They should discuss their issues and come to more understanding when something goes wrong.

E. Once my family made a decision to spend more time together. No matter what, we all ate dinner together every night and did something together two weekends a month. It made us happy. More families should try to be together at least a few weekends a month. We are always so busy, sometimes we forget that even though we live together, that does not mean we spend time together.

F. My family enjoys spending a lot of leisure time together. We go to the beach and hike in the mountains every summer. Being at leisure and doing fun activities is why my family stays together and we do not argue a lot. When my sister started going to the university, she came home every weekend. It was important for the whole family to still see her as much as possible.
