Russian Cartoons
Unlike Disney's cartoons, those which were released by the Russian Soyuzmultfilm Studio, the children's animation film studio, are often referred to as "kind" and they often were indeed. If you compare them with Western cartoons, especially such as "Tom and Jerry", you can say that the violent escapades typical of some of Disney's films never took place in such classical cartoonsas "The Golden Antilope" or "The Adventures of Buratino", the Russian version of "Pinocchio".One of the greatest animators in our country is Yury Norshtein, whose lyrical works are famous at home and abroad. One of his most well-known works is "The Hedgehog in the Fog", a lyrical tale about a hedgehog on his way to meet his friend, a bear cub. Another film favourite is "Nu, Pogodi", or "Just you wait, I'll get you". In this film a Bad Wolf and a Rabbit have many funny adventures. Astrid Lindgren's children's books are loved all over the world. The Russian adaptation of her stories about Karlson Who Lives on the Roof became children's classicsand is still very popular today. Such animated cartoons as "The Snow Queen", "Winnie-the-Pooh and a Busy Day", "The Bremen Town Musicians" are entertaining for both children and adults.
