Before graduation, everyone has a question: what to do next? Many of us go to college or university; very rarely take a gap year. An excellent alternative to combining study and travel can be studying abroad. Some say that it is very expensive, others that it is too hard. But when I entered Peking University after school, I saw only advantages.

First of all, if you love foreign languages, you will be completely immersed in the culture. Wherever you go, new acquaintances and communication are waiting for you everywhere. Classes help to improve knowledge of the foreign language, and practice helps to consolidate it everywhere you want. In China, there are a lot of holidays in the first half of the year, the Moon Festival, and the Day of the Formation of the People's Republic of China. This means almost two weeks of additional holidays. During this time, you can visit a couple of cities. China is famous for its nature and has a sophisticated infrastructure. You can turn the corner of a skyscraper and plunge into the greenery of the park on the water.

I also got great pleasure from the food prices and tried many local culinary delicacies - smashed cucumbers, Peking duck, and much more. I especially liked the street food. Many of the stereotypes that we are preparing to face in China are false. I agree that they are noisy, but I also saw them as very decent, calm, and patient people. In general, the Chinese are very fond of foreigners, for them, we are going to an unknown world. I found a lot of friends, although I prefer to travel independently.

Studying abroad allows you to be independent - to make decisions, control finances and the daily routine. I am responsible for myself. When you study in the country of the language you are studying, you seem to become a resident for a while, and at the end of your studies, you become one. You start to understand the local jokes, you know all the places in the city, and it's hard to fool you. I could call studying in China the most incredible adventure activities and experience in my life. If you are not afraid to try new things, then this opportunity is exactly for you!
