International Friendship
Today Vania and I are going skiing. This is my first snowy winter. In Britain, we don't have so much snow. We usually spend holidays with our families together. Vania's father is an interpreter—he translates everything for my father.
I am getting better at my Russian. When we arrived here, I didn't speak Russian. Now I can talk, read and write in Russian. I also help Vania to learn English better. We help each other to read books in our languages. Vania is reading A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens now, and I am reading a book by Leo Tolstoy. We explain the hard words and places to each other.
Vania studies at the same school as me; he is in the same class. His favourite lesson is Maths because my friend is keen on figures. That's why we often go shopping together. Thanks to Vania, I rarely make mistakes in the shop. Sometimes I need to convert pounds to rubles and withdraw the money from an ATM.
I'm happy to have such a good friend!
