Oh, hi! So, as you may or may not know, I have recently been to London. It all happened between 6th and 13th of August, and with a company of four of my friends — Maria, Pedro, Ricardo and Marcia. A lot happened during those days — from the usual sightseeing to visiting shops and markets, to feeling as though the entirety of my subscription box had been spilled in front of my eyes. I am, of course, talking about Summer in the City, which I'll get to in just a moment. But first, let's start from the beginning!
It was 3 a.m. when we got up to get ready to catch our flight. We booked a taxi to drive us to the airport, and by 4.30 we had arrived. Our plane was only leaving at 6.45, so we had a bit of time to spare. We finally got in a plane, and after two hours, we were in the land of sexy accents and weird ways of driving.
So, first day, we went to see the London Eye, Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, St. James's Park where we made friends with a squirrel, Buckingham Palace and then, at night, Piccadilly Circus.
Day two, we decided to rent Boris Bikes for the day, which I don't have footage of, because, one — I'm not a very experienced cyclist — and two — I didn't want to be pushing my luck carrying around a pretty expensive camera in my hand. We visited the British Museum, had burgers for lunch, mistook St. Pancras station for King's Cross Station, but eventually found it and intended to take a picture near platform 9 ¾, but then we saw the size of the queue — Instead, we headed to the Harry Potter store and met a girl that looked an awful lot like Moaning Myrtle.

When anyone asks me about my trip to Vancouver, I can honestly — hand on my heart — say that it was one of the best places I have ever ever visited. Why? Quite literally, the atmosphere. Vancouver's clean air is thanks to its really close connection to nature. There are mountains and forests surrounding the city, and the Pacific Ocean is right on the city's doorstep. Here, the great outdoors isn't just a place, it's a way of life. But it's a modern city waiting to be discovered as well.
Navigating the city was easy thanks to Google Maps and Citymapper. My tip though — just make sure your phone's got enough data. Check with your provider before you leave!
There's loads of things to see and do in Vancouver. Here are some of our favorites! Like most things in North America, Stanley Park is massive. It's absolutely huge! Think Hyde Park on steroids. It's also a great place for the locals to go and chill out — either rollerblading, cycling or just sitting under those really big trees. It's also a place to spot some wildlife. While we were there, we saw a seal in the harbour, some black squirrels and some bin-diving racoons, which the locals lovingly refer to as "trash pandas". Dr. Sun Yat-Sen's Classical Chinese Garden is a taste of traditional China right in North America. Built as a way to promote understanding between Chinese and Western cultures, it's open all year round, and for more information — there's a link in the description. I liked Gastown a lot, and it would seem that a lot of other people did, too. So expect plenty of tourists in pubs. That being said, there's a great atmosphere with great places to eat, great shops and generally plenty of things going on. A bit like London's Covent Garden.
