About the Internet

The Internet has many advantages for its users; we can shop in stores we cannot go to in person, find entertainment, and keep informed of global issues. People can find friends with similar hobbies and research to learn new facts and information. Browsing the Internet allows technophiles to entertain themselves for hours. The drawback of using the Internet is the lack of full safety as people can become victims of online harassment or trolling as well as be threatened or cyberstalked. All types of cyberbullying can be really serious for Internet users. In order to keep safe online, a user should interact carefully with people they first meet, and remember not to share your private information with anybody.

The Internet has changed the way businesses are run as thanks to the global network their reach to customers now happens in an extremely short period of time. E-commerce offers a huge international market and with it comes instant sales when a customer surfs the Internet. Nowadays, only a technophobe would not buy any products online. A shop will have to work and build a network for its business. They will also have to have steady access to the Internet, and be able to cope with growing competition in their market. E-shops are also more about Internet websites than an actual store; this could be a problem with customers who want to physically visit the place in real life. These days many people still like the personal contact with shop owners.

As for e-books, one of their big advantage is that they are environmentally friendly, and require no trees to be cut down. People can store hundreds of e-books in their favorite reading devices, and a person does not need to be tech-savvy to read one. One can easily change the reading font to see the text better, and with a click of a button they can save passages and chapters to find again later. Electronic media offers users convenience; however, they will not completely be a substitute for their paper counterparts, at least not for real books. Some people really love holding a real book in their hands. Besides, e-book readers need their battery charged while a real book lasts longer.

Nowadays, many people do not keep important files on their electronic devices anymore and have everything stored on their cloud. Cloud services offer users a quick recovery when their personal data is lost. It was once frustrating to lose everything when your computer crashed or broke. A cloud offers a helping hand in keeping our data safe. However, using a cloud service can have issues, since it is a company that offers to store your data for you, it will be hard to change services. Another issue is that you need an Internet connection to access your cloud.

At the present time it seems that many people may become famous quickly and easily on the Internet. It comes down to finding a niche in a globally connected world and then having followers who enjoy your content. However, it is actually harder than it sounds; you must keep posting content and have a likable Internet personality for your followers. Before the Internet, famous people such as actors and musicians had a manager and were a part of a company contract. Nowadays, many famous Internet people market themselves and run their own blogs and accounts. They may hire an assistant to help them, however, their content is their own responsibility to create and post. Famous actors and musicians have careers that last for decades, while it is still questionable how long a YouTuber or blogger's career would last.
