Listening Part 2
- Read the statements and find the keywords to help you focus on what's important in the dialogue.
- Be careful to note if the statement is positive or negative.
- Try to identify if the statement is True, False, or Not stated during the first listening and confirm your answer during the second listening.
- Mind that answers must be based on the information you will hear in the dialogue, but not on something you personally know or think.
Listen to the dialogue. Decide which of the statements A–G are True (1), False, (2) or Not stated (3)
Now we are ready to start.
JoeSuzieHi Suzie. Great to see you.
How are you?
Hi Joe, I'm okay, thanks. And you?
I'm fine, thank you.
What are you doing now?
Well, I'm preparing for the exam we will have next week.
Which exam?
The one for our French class?
Yeah, that one.
I really want to get a command of the language.
I just don't think I'm that accurate.
Oh really?
I'm getting brushed up on the materials for it.
Me too.
I feel like I sometimes just barely get by.
I'm cramming a lot.
It's not so easy for me to learn everything I need for the exam.
Yeah, it's hard.
And the teacher's presentations contain so many words to learn.
Yeah, I noticed this.
What do you do that helps you study?
I could use some tips.
I like starting from scratch and studying right
from the beginning of the unit.
Great. It sounds like it could work for me.
What I also do is spaced learning.
I study in chunks
because I am so bad at memorising exam information
and therefore, I really need to give myself time
to make sure I know the materials.
Thanks Joe, I should try these techniques.
I am so bad at memorising French words.
I really want to be fluent in the language.
I will take your advice and start earlier next time.
Why don't we study together today?
We can practise it like it's our lingua franca.
Sure, that would be great.
See you after the class.
We can get some snacks and study.
See you.
You have 15 seconds to complete the task.
Now you will hear the text again.
