Pronunciation Rules

Choose the correct options to complete the pronunciation rules.

We pronounce -s/-es as:

• [/s/|/z/|/iz/] after /s/, /ʃ/, /ʧ/, /ʤ/, /z/ (example:
  [laughs|relaxes|lives]);
• [/s/|/z/|/iz/] after /f/, /k/, /p/, /t/ (example:
  [laughs|relaxes|lives]);
• [/s/|/z/|/iz/] after all other sounds (example:
  [laughs|relaxes|lives]).
