Complete the task
Imagine that you are preparing a literature project with your friend. You have found some interesting material for the presentation and you want to read this text to your friend. It is an adapted passage from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum. You have 1.5 minutes to read the text silently; then be ready to read it out aloud. You will not have more than 1.5 minutes to read it.
Dorothy lived in the middle of the great Kansas fields. She lived with Uncle Henry, who was a farmer, and Aunt Em, who was the farmer's wife. Their house was small. That was because the wood to build it had to be carried by wagon many miles. There were four walls, a floor and a roof, which made one room. This room contained a rusty looking cookstove, a cupboard for the dishes, a table and three or four chairs. It also contained the beds. Uncle Henry and Aunt Em had a big bed in one corner. Dorothy had a little bed in another corner. There was no attic at all, and no cellar — except a small hole dug in the ground. That was called a cyclone cellar. It was where the family could go in case one of those great violent storms arose, mighty enough to crush any building in its path. It was reached by a trap door in the middle of the floor, from which a ladder led down into the small, dark hole.
