Complete the rules and the examples

When we want to report what someone has said, we use reporting verbs, such as say and tell.

1. [Say|Tell] is always followed by a personal object.

2. [Say|Tell] is used with or without a personal object.

3. If
   [say|tell] is used with a personal object, it is always followed by the preposition to.

4. She [said|told] me she was disappointed.

5. She [said|told] she was disappointed.

6. He [said|told] to me she was disappointed.

7. He [said|told] me he was going to the theatre.

8. She [said|told] to her friend she really enjoyed learning English.
