My Big Moment

I had spent the summer acting in an amateur theatre group. I have always enjoyed acting and the theatre, but I never thought I would have the [luck|moment|opportunity|prospect] to be part of a real Broadway production. However, that is exactly what happened during my time with The Starway Theatre Group. One evening just before our [display|performance|act|presentation], we were told by the organiser of the theatre group that an important Broadway director was in the [group|viewers|spectators|audience]. He was there to discover a new talent for his show. We could hardly contain our excitement! [Though|Even|If|Since] I had been performing in the same show all summer, I was quite nervous.

When I went on stage for my first scene, I felt as if I was about to fall [through|behind|apart|back] and make a fool of myself. I still don't understand what exactly happened, whether it was the effect of the bright lights on me or the idea that I was being watched by a great director, but whatever it was, I [made|gave|placed|set] my best performance ever!

After the show, I was asked to meet with the director and he offered me a [mini|little|small|slight] part in his Broadway show. That autumn I went to New York and performed for one season on Broadway! It was an experience of a lifetime!
