Santa Claus

The 25th of December is Christmas Day in Britain, the USA, Australia and Canada. Children love Christmas because it is the time for presents. Santa Claus brings presents to children on Christmas Day. Santa is a funny plump old man with a white beard. He has got a red hat, a red coat, red trousers and black boots.

Santa is very kind. He has got a big bag with presents for children. Children put Christmas stockings above the fireplace, and Santa puts presents into the stockings.

Santa has got nine reindeer*. They can fly in the sky, and Santa goes all around the world with them. Santa's most famous reindeer is Rudolph, a young reindeer with a red nose. Children put a glass of milk and some cookies for Santa and a carrot or two for his reindeer. Santa lives at the North Pole** with Mrs*** Santa Claus. There is much snow and ice at the North Pole. Santa and his little elves make toys and presents. Children can write letters to Santa and ask him for presents. It is great fun.
