Future Tenses

1. Future Simple.

Will + infinitive.

Мы используем the future simple:

1. 1. Чтобы выразить будущий факт: I'll be 10 next year.
2. 2. Предсказывать события в будущем, когда прогнозы основаны больше на мнении, чем на доказательствах: People will go to Mars on holidays soon.
3. 3. Говорить о решениях, которые мы принимаем во время выступления: I'm tired. I'll go to bed.
4. 4. За обещания (а также угрозы, предупреждения, надежды, страхи): I'll help you./I won't leave you. / I hope he won't lose the money. / I'm afraid I'll be late.
5. 5. Для вещей, в которых мы не уверены: Perhaps, I'll go to the supermarket.
6. 6. Чтобы внести предложение или попросить совета с помощью я/мы: Shall we invite Mrs Stone to our party?

Мы не используем в будущем простые слова после time words (when, before, after, as soon as, until, if, as, etc.): We'll have dinner as soon as dad comes home.

Если "когда" — это вопросительное слово, мы можем использовать будущее простое после него: When will dad come home?

2. Future Continuous.

Will + -ing form.

Мы используем the future continuous:

2. 1. Для действия, которое будет совершаться в определённое время в будущем: This time next Sunday I will be travelling to Spain.
3. 2. Для будущего события, которое произойдёт, потому что это заведённый порядок или договорённость: I'll be playing chess with my friends on Friday night (we always play chess on Friday nights).
4. 3. Чтобы вежливо спросить кого-то об их планах: Will you be using your car tonight?

5. Future Perfect.

Will + past participle.

Мы используем the future perfect:

5. 1. To be going to + infinitive для планов и намерений, сделанных до момента выступления: I'm going to become a writer.
6. 2. To be going to + infinitive для предсказаний, когда есть доказательства, подтверждающие наши предсказания: Look at the boy! He's going to fall off his bike.
7. 3. Present continuous для фиксированных планов, особенно когда мы знаем время и дату: I'm working the night shift next week.
8. 4. Present simple для простых расписаний и программ: The plane leaves at 9 p.m.
