The Golden Ring of Russia

The Golden Ring of Russia is a special tourist route A \(\underline{ }\) five regions of Russia's Central Federal District. The route consists of eight principal cities and secondary unofficial ones located in the Ivanovo, Kostroma, Moscow, Vladimir and Yaroslavl regions.The route was B \(\underline{ }\) to attract tourists from Russia and abroad to show the ancient beauty of architecture and boost the local economy of the regions. All of the provincial towns are called open-air museums and represent unique monuments of Russian architecture of the 12th–18th century including the monasteries, churches and cathedrals, several of which are in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Besides, D \(\underline{ }\) with local arts and crafts which are sold in numerous stalls around the towns to feel the atmosphere of ancient Russia. Local dishes are also very popular and are served in every authentic restaurant or cafe.

Though there is E \(\underline{ }\) list of the towns included on the route, the main cities are Sergiev Posad, Ivanovo, Rostov Veliky, Kostroma, Yaroslavl, Suzdal and Vladimir.
