A. The Southeast Asian regions are rich in herbs and roots, which are commonly used in Malay cuisine. The combination of Chinese, Malaysian and Indian food is reflected in unique dishes with a variety of culinary flavours. This vibrant cuisine offers plenty of cooking techniques. The abundance of seafood makes the dishes likeable by many people around the world. Lamb, meat and chicken are used as key ingredients too. Although plenty of dishes are based on well-known ones, there is local creativity included.
B. People who are seeking high-protein dishes have to pay attention to African, Asian and Latin American cuisine where bugs remain a traditional ingredient. Fried, grilled, roasted, boiled insects find more and more fans among vegetarians and meat-eaters. Mexico is considered the best country to try giant ants, worms, caterpillars, dragonflies, scorpions and grasshoppers. Skilfully cooked and accompanied by chilli and lime, these small creatures turn into edible main courses and desserts and become a part of the culinary heritage.
C. It's becoming more and more popular to go on a culinary tour around the world to taste as many dishes as possible. It's a fast-growing experience in demand. Thinking of the USA, there are a few cities where experienced travellers recommend going. San Francisco is an original foodie destination. It is famous for farm markets and street stalls where it's possible to enjoy coffee and pastry. Seattle is a place with innovative and fresh seafood dishes. Last but not least, New York must be on the list of destinations without a doubt. Cosmopolitan vibrant city gathers the best from different cuisines.
D. It's difficult to find a child in Russia who doesn't like or at least hasn't tried grandmother's blinis. They differ greatly from pancakes. The most astonishing fact is that Russian blinis are usually considered by foreigners flat pancakes with plenty of various toppings and fillings. Needless to say, they are famous not only for their savoury taste but also for their historic value. A well-known winter festival called Maslenitsa never happens without blinis. Moreover, people often use the traditional saying "The first blini comes crumbled".
E. One more dish which echoes the country's past is old Irish stew. Cooked with lamb or mutton, onions, potatoes and parsley, the stew is still on the menu of all restaurants and the household festive tables. One of the most remarkable things is that it isn't problematic to cook, and it's in any cookery book. However, its nutritional value is unquestionable. It's generally served with pickled red cabbage. Irish stew might look a little stodgy, but the potatoes and legumes usually absorb enough of flavourful stock, which makes it finger-licking good.
F. Chinese cuisine is frequently associated with typical rice and widespread noodles. However, these country's recipes are full of fatty meat and fresh vegetables too. In many dishes, wheat is a key ingredient. Chinese dumplings are filled with mince. Crispy duck and easy stir-fry with oyster sauce and leaves are also worth trying. Chinese are obsessed with the food they cook and eat. Unfortunately, some visitors feel confused ordering in Chinese restaurant sushi and sashimi which are a part of the traditional Japanese menu.
G. It tastes disgusting for many tourists to eat rarely done hamburgers. The tourists find bloody meatballs are horrible to try. Rare steak seems to be revolting too. However, those who intend to get more excitement and who are adventurous enough might find eating a rare type of fish called fugu amazing. To cook this delicacy, a cook must earn a certification to serve fugu as it is the most dangerous dish in the world. When something goes wrong, in pursuit of taste sensation, people might die.
