based on ex.1, p. 27 Listen and mark the statements as True, False or Not stated Sometimes writers of books for teenagers get letters from their fan readers. Young people write about their problems. Here is one of the letters addressed to a writer. Dear Judy, I have two problems that I hope you can help me with. My first problem is this: I just can't seem to do anything right. I can't write a poem or draw, or even sing right. The reason I say it is because my sister can do all of that. She is very creative. She was a brilliant pupil too. She just left the school that I'm now in. All the teachers there thought I would be just like her! They were wrong. I wasn't like her and so they were disappointed, I could tell. They treated me differently before they found out that I wasn't great like my sister. My second problem is pop music. When I hear some of it around these days, I can't help wondering how some people can listen to it. However, this is not the thing that bothers me — people are perfectly free to listen to pop music if they wish, as long as they don't force other people to listen to it too. I am one of the few people who can't stand pop music, but whenever I walk into a shop, it's the first thing I hear. In record shops, only a very small space is given to classical music. Whenever any tapes or CDs are on special offer, it's always pop music or jazz — hardly ever classical music. I realize I'm in a minority, and I don't expect shops to play classical music all the time, or record shops to devote all their shelves to classical music, but I wonder how pop music fans would feel if the only thing they ever heard anywhere was classical music? Mature people write about their problems. The author of the letter feels that she is less talented than her sister. The author studies together with her sister. The author feels that she is old-fashioned. Her favourite genre is pop music. She has never seen CDs with classical music on sale. She feels that classical music lovers wouldn't be against listening to it everywhere.
