My shopping at the Grand Bazaar
If you have a couple of free hours in Istanbul, come and visit the Grand Bazaar. It’s one of the largest and oldest markets in the world, located right in the centre of İstanbul. The bazaar has over \(4,000\) shops, \(61\) streets and more than \(300,000\) visitors daily. This place will show you a variety of food and things to buy.
It’s impossible to pass by the delicious smell of fresh bread. Buy a loaf of bread, some toasts or a sandwich in one of the local bakeries, or even stop there for a cup of coffee.
Then look for some rice. A kilo or a bowl — it doesn’t matter. The thing is, here you get to choose from more than \(10\) different types of rice!
The bazaar is the world of seasonings: sugar, salt, pepper, mint, and more — everything you need for a tasty dinner. It’s better to buy in small jars to have a collection of smells and tastes.
Also look for some big classic jars of pickles, olives, and jams. And, of course, a good bottle of olive oil that is great for salads and other dishes.
If you're a cheese lover, you're in luck! There are many cheese shops where you can try and buy it.
So, when you visit the Grand Bazaar, explore the food section and have enough bags with you to carry all this delicious food.
