Goa is a natural

paradise which offers travellers an opportunity to

experience nature at its best and take a break from busy city life. What’s

more, if you want to do something worthwhile and combine a holiday with

conservation work, this is the ideal place to go.

There is a conservation centre that serves as a field station for biologists and ecologists and was set up so that they could do research and

check the development of various plants and wildlife. In addition, the centre tries to make the local communities in the region

aware of environmental issues. There are also volunteers at the centre who help with various conservation activities in the

area.

A project of great importance is

conservation of sea turtles. Volunteers collect data on the turtles’ numbers

and well-being and also talk to people in the local community about things they

can do to protect the turtles.

In their free time, volunteers can socialize, enjoy the beautiful scenery, go swimming and

trekking in the jungle. This is a truly amazing experience as you get to see

numerous wildlife species up close and also contribute to their conservation.
