A pentathlon is a contest featuring five events. The name is derived from Greek: combining the words pente \(five\) and -athlon \(competition\). Combining five traditional disciplines in a one-day competition, Modern Pentathlon has been a core sport at the Olympic Games since 1912. The events are: fencing, freestyle swimming \(200 m\), equestrian show jumping \(riding a horse\) \(15 jumps\), and a final combined event of pistol shooting and cross country running \(Laser Run\) \(3200 m\)
