A.The International Spy Museum gives visitors a glimpse into the world of espionage and intelligence. Often a topic filled with secrecy, the museum aims to allow understanding of the important role that gathering intelligence has played in history and its use today. Hosting the largest collection of espionage artefacts, the exhibits are divided into different categories, including an interactive exhibition called Operation Spy where you can take on the roles of secret agents and participate in an hour spy stimulation. Noteworthy artefacts on display include the lipstick pistol, also known as "kiss of death," which was used by KGB spy-women during the Cold War.
B. If you need comfort after getting your heart broken or are simply lovesick — The Museum of Broken Relationships is the perfect companion to your heartache. The museum is just as the name suggests — dedicated to failed love relationships. The exhibits are mostly personal items from former lovers with a little short description, sometimes telling the story of the item. The idea behind the museum was from a Zagreb-based couple, Olinka Vištica and Dražen Grubišić, who initially joked about setting up a museum to house their leftover personal items after their break up. The joke turned into reality and the museum was born.
C. Perhaps the only museum in the world that you need scuba gear to enter is Cancun Underwater Museum. It is an underwater sculptural extravaganza, found in one of the world's clearest bodies of water, the Mexican National Marine Park in the Caribbean. Visitors to this aquatic art gallery can expect to find more than 400 sculptures, depicting residents and even some celebrities of Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Puerto Juarez, amongst many other sites ranging from nine to 20 feet underwater. What is more, all of the sculptures are made of special marine-friendly materials, meaning that, eventually, this attraction will become its own stunning coral reef.
D. The Museum of Gold is possibly the most famous tourist site in Colombia, attracting half a million visitors per year. Of the 130 rare and valuable collars on display, the earliest piece dates back to the late 15th century, a Spanish iron herd mastiff's collar. A large part of the collection was from Gertrude Hunt and was put on display in honour of her husband, historian John Hunt.
F. Founded in 1955, The Museum of Bread Culture is dedicated to bread and aims to showcase the 6,000-year-old history of bread as an indispensable part of human culture and civilisation. Its first permanent exhibition dates back to 1960 and is the first museum of its kind in the world. It also shows various methods of bread-making and how it has evolved throughout the ages. Despite this, actual bread is not part of the exhibition because the founders believe that bread is not an artefact but food which should be freshly baked each day.
